We’re excited to kick off our breeder bio series! Check back regularly for some fun insights on Showpig.com client operations.

Coulson Show Pigs (CSP), in Warwick, Oklahoma has been in business for 33 years.  Fred Coulson, Monty Coulson, Evan Green have taken equal stock and partnership in making CSP a success.

“Fred (my Grandpa) started out raising showpigs for his sons and eventually grandchildren to show but it turned into something much bigger. We still aren’t a big operation, we’ll breed 30 this spring, but the quality of our sow herd is pretty important. No matter what they cost or who they come from, they must generate or they don’t make it long here. We are really proud of the sows we have in Warwick,” says Green.

CSP highlights thus far include Grand Champion Gilts at Tulsa 2 years in a row (2012-13), Res. Grand barrow Tulsa State Fair 2013, Res. Hampshire OYE 2013,  Grand Barrow Houston 2014. Res. Grand Gilt OYE 2015. They were also fortunate to sell a baby pig at Perfect Timing for $55,000 who unfortunately he got sick after that sale and died.

What’s in store for CSP? They have goals to keep winning shows. “With everything we do: breeding, buying replacement females, or just traveling around looking at pigs we are always looking for a way to make that next great one,” says Green.

Families and building relationships with buyers is what keeps them going. CSP loves seeing repeat customers come back year and after year, and it gets even sweeter when they can take home a big banner.

Showpig.com would like to thank CSP for their continued loyalty and friendship. “It has truly been an honor and a privilege to partner with Coulson Showpigs and help them market their unique genetics through Showpig.com. They are always a pleasure to work with and the continued success of their online auctions are a testament of the hard work and dedication to their customers and their breeding program. They go above and beyond and it shows! Thanks guys for the opportunity to work with you!” – Stacey Watje, Showpig.com Project Manager since 2012.
