Surprisingly delicious, Amy says these brussel sprouts with bacon are a guaranteed hit and the perfect mix of healthy and sweet.

Another tried and true gem, Taylor Miller shares a timeless side dish — one that people often forget about. In this culinary masterpiece, humble onions undergo a magical transformation to become a delectable side dish. The gradual cooking process, aimed at amplifying their inherent sweetness, yields a sumptuous, golden creation. 

 

Taylor was first introduced to this delicious dish through her church’s recipe book. She fondly recalls the book, saying, “I’m uncertain if these books are still in circulation, but during my upbringing, everyone had one in the kitchen. As I grew older, my appreciation for this recipe deepened, and now, it’s what I look forward to most at Thanksgiving and Christmas.”

Taco Dip

You can’t have a holiday celebration without a legendary dip. This crowd-pleasing, flavor-packed appetizer is sure to satisfy the snackers before dinner. With multiple layers, this dip captures the bold and savory elements of a traditional taco. It’s typically served chilled and is perfect for dipping tortilla chips, creating a festive and delicious addition to any gathering or party. 

 

Diana says this is a huge hit across all of her family and friends and always has it ready in her fridge during the holidays. She does, however, advise keeping the lettuce off as it will keep better that way.

Sugar Cream Pie

No holiday dinner is complete without a dessert of some sort — a pie nonetheless. Sugar Cream Pie is a classic dessert that embodies simplicity and indulgence. The pie features a luscious filling made with sugar, cream, and a hint of vanilla, all nestled in a flaky pie crust. The magic happens as it bakes, resulting in a velvety, custard-like texture with a beautifully caramelized top. 

 

Now you may have never heard of a Sugar Cream Pie, Diana hadn’t either until her husband had her try some, and she has been hooked since. She says she is more than delighted to get to carry-on his multigenerational family tradition as well as share the recipe with everyone!

Pumpkin Cookies

Pumpkin cookies are a delightful treat that you definitely should not limit to just the fall. These soft cake-like cookies are infused with warm, comforting spice flavors and are often accompanied with raisins, nuts, or chocolate chips. However you choose to customize them, they are the perfect balance of sweet and spice. Uniquely, these cookies are topped with a tasty caramel icing that is sure to satisfy the sweet tooth. Whether enjoyed with a cup of coffee or as a sweet snack, these cookies are sure to bring a touch of warmth to the holiday season.
