Richmond, Indiana, is the home of the National Swine Registry’s Weanling Pig Extravaganza, and it’s a popular pick-up point for spring pig purchases. If you’re Richmond bound this week be sure to check out some of these great stops, and se out – beyond the barn.

Square Donuts hasn’t cut any corners when turning out their tasty morning pastries (both figuratively and literally) for nearly half a century. This donut proves that it’s not the shape, but the taste that makes a donut. Try them for yourselves, and you’ll never judge a donut by its shape again.

The Model T Museum is tucked into Richmond, Indiana’s Historic Depot District. Maintained by the Model T Ford Club of America, this small, but mighty museum houses an ever-changing car and memorabilia collection. Visitors have deemed it the top Richmond attraction on Trip Advisor.

Galo’s Italian Grill is another favorite. This locally-owned restaurant guarantees everything they serve will be always fresh and always Italian. Their menu touts imported pasta, wood-fired pizza, steaks and sea food. If you don’t think you can go beyond the barn long enough for a sit down meal, Galo’s also offers carry out.

If you’re not in the mood for Italian, grab a sandwich at another local favorite located in the historic part of town Little Sheba’s. Not only does this joint have lots of character, but they have a diverse menu that’s great for lunch.

Fricker’s is another favorite of Richmond regulars. This spot promises fun, food, sports and spirits. Although they’re known for their wings, if that’s not your thing, there are plenty of other pub classics on their menu.

If you love chocolate, you might want to read on. The city of Richmond has created its own Chocolate Trail consisting on a dozen local shops that offer free chocolate samples. To receive the freebies though, you must pick up a passport from the Old National Road Welcome Center.

We hope you guys have a great time when you swing through Richmond, and as always, find adventure  beyond the barn.
