I have a barrow for Houston Livestock Show. He is getting about 6 pounds of feed a day. I have him on Lindner 611, oat groats, and Sup-rrr-Oink. I need him to gain about 70lbs by March 15th, is there anything I can add to his feed to make him gain weight without loosing shape?

It's certainly do-able for sure.Do you have a scale at home to keep up with his daily average gains ? And why is he on 611 ? Is he too soft ?? describe what he looks like and we will come up with some ideas. Also include how much you are feeding him at each feeding and if he cleans it all up.I am worried you might be feeding him too much protein with the super oink and 611.dg
He's gaining about 15-20lbs a week but, not sure on daily. He is a bit soft and we're trying to beef up his shoulders. He has a good rump and is pretty full. We feed about 2 and a half pounds at each feeding and he cleans it up.
Daily gain = the amount of weight gained over 7 days divided by 7.Let's do the math on your hog.He is gaining 18 lbs per week on his current ration divided by 7 = 2.57 lbs per day of gain. Now x that times how many days till HLSR and you will see where you will be on show day.The 611 is pretty high % of protein and should give you the harder appearance. You could add some fitter 35 for extra top shape.
Call Lindner's...611 is a great finisher for you if you need power. But calories can be put on and help to cover the muscle and end up with great shape if you do things like add some full figure, Wet Slop, and paylean. Give them a call and they will help you finish and look great.
